I’m Kathia, a rug maker who works with fabric scraps. You might recognize me for my funky pet portraits and yarn boobies. I’m a full-time mom to my twins, Luke and Lyra, and our dog, Doobie Moon. Since high school, I’ve been avoiding a 9-to-5 desk job by building my brand around up-cycled thrifted clothing.
Before diving into rug making, I spent five years as a fashion model in NYC. Later, I went back to school for marketing, although I didn’t find what I was looking for there. In 2020, I discovered tufting, and it quickly became my passion. I’m hooked on experimenting with fun yarns, pushing the boundaries of what I can weave into rugs, and recycling as much material as possible.
I married my high school best friend, Mikey, and we’ve been creating art together for over 18 years. He’s likely the reason you found my website, probably after seeing one of the funny videos he directed to showcase my art. I love taking on commissions and meeting new friends, so feel free to say hiiiii!
