Garden of Odds & Ends

$3,300.00

For the past year, I’ve been saving fabric, clothing, and yarn scraps from my other work and turning them into little flowers and shapes. I wanted to find a way to give all of those leftover materials a new life, so I started building them into one giant piece.

I intentionally mixed in things like old film, seashells, paint samples, broken jewelry, and stones, using the different colors, textures, and materials to create a flow throughout the rug.

Since I used leftover materials it was impossible to plan the color scheme. Even though each funky little fiber rug is unique, they come together as one cohesive garden.

It’s a zero-waste rug made from a year of collected scraps, found objects, and a lot of experimenting with color and texture.

This piece can technically be used on the floor, but I highly recommend displaying it as a wall hanging. It includes small found objects and textured details that may not feel great to step on and are better appreciated as part of the artwork.
