Hello! I’m Kathia Bailey, a self-taught artist with a deep passion for tufting that’s been growing for nearly five years. My creative journey is all about mixing media, exploring vibrant colors and textures, and experimenting with a variety of fibers and recycled fabrics. Sustainability is at the heart of my work, and I strive to make a positive impact in a world that often overconsumes.
In 2013, fresh out of high school, I founded Psychedelic Threads. What started as crafting festival outfits quickly evolved into a love for up-cycling thrifted and vintage clothing. I eventually swapped my sewing machine for a tufting gun, and I haven’t looked back since.
Join me in my workshop, where I’ll take you on an exciting adventure through the art of tufting. We’ll cover everything from setting up your creative space and getting to know different tufting guns to projecting your designs, gluing, backing, and shaving.
